Positive feedback loops in climate change
climate change: Positive Feedback loops
While climate change is mainly caused by anthropogenic pollution in the atmosphere, positive feedback loops exacerbate the change in climate. One example of a positive feedback loop is the melting of the polar ice caps, which reduces the albedo of the Earth, allowing it to absorb more sunlight, increasing the temperature, which then melts more ice caps ("Sea Ice-albedo: Earth’s Chilling Reflection," 2011).
